How-To: Transparent Mini-book By Scrapadel
I wanted to share a fun project with you all. This was done by our very own Mel Harris AKA Scrapadel. You can find more creative projects in our online gallery and forum!
Enjoy!!

Products Used:
3 Overhead Projector Transparencies/ Acetate (A4 or 8.5x11)
Basic Grey Boxer:- Sticker Alphabet- Oxford- Wide Tie- Skinny Jeans- Corduroy- Slim Fit- Wing Tip
Bazzill Basics Cardstock- White
My Mind’s Eye Magnolia Acrylic Frames: (All available at Scrapbook Dreamer)- Serene “Grown Up”- Serene “Dream”- Serene “All Together”- Sundance “Celebrate”- Sundance “The Best of Friends”- Sundance “You and Me”- Starburst “Beauty”
Kaiser Crafts Pearls
Kaiser Crafts Rhinestones
Jenni Bowlin Ticket Stubs
Making Memories Bling Brads
Bazzill Eyelets- Red
American Crafts Slick Writer Pen
StaplesYarn for Spine
Instructions:
Step 1:Fold your transparency in half and run a scourer down the spine of the transparency.
This will now fold like a book.

Step 2:
Open the transparency and using a hole punch or eyelet setter, punch a hole in the top and bottom, this is where you will thread the ribbon.
Tip- They are tough so you may need to hammer hard.

Step 3:
Place all 3 transparencies together and thread with a piece of ribbon. I have used a sort of yarn or fibre that I had in my stash.
Tie a knot or bow in it and cut off the excess.

Step 4:
Gather up all your supplies and photos.
I have used 6 sheets of co-ordinating paper, a sheet of cardstock, ticket stubs, bling and eyelets. If you want to use journalling or quotes, print them off now.

Step 5:
Assemble the pages as you would a normal mini-album. The most important part is to have fun and try new things.

Tips:* It helps to do a mirror image of each page e.g. on page 2 and page 3 you will see through them so I have made all the papers the same size and shape so that there is no overlapping and you can’t see the double sided tape on either side.* I think the way you can see the next page through the previous, the “sneak peek” feel of this approach is wonderful so don’t be afraid to try this too.* You may like to outline the pages with a pen or paint so you can fully see and appreciate the transparent pages. I have used the Slick Writer from American Crafts for this, this is a wonderful pen as it dries very fast and doesn’t smudge on shiny surfaces.
Finished Product:

If you have any questions, please ask away and I will help you. The most important thing is to let loose and have fun…
